Videography

Video is the ultimate storytelling tool. From long form aspirational storytelling to short punchy product promotion, quality custom video production can have a big impact on audience engagement. Use your website for testimonials and hero style looping video. YouTube is great for how-to guides, product comparison, trip planning and brand story videos. Instagram favours short reels showing gear use, route highlights and stay experiences. TikTok works great with first-person clips, mini-vlogs, staff POVs and quick comparisons. And last but not least Facebook content is usually informational, community-oriented and event-friendly. Longer form video shot for YouTube can often be cut down to shorter lengths and repurposed for emotional storytelling on Instagram and quirky shorts on TikTok.

Time Lapse Video

This video was created for a project for the Advanced Video DGCC course. It required a combination of two techniques – time lapse and product were chosen. The video was completed under the guise of a YouTube outdoor adventure gear influencer.

Non-Profit Cross Media Campaign – TikTok videos

These videos were created for the Capstone group project in the DGCC program. The project involved creating a cross platform campaign for a local non-profit. My group partnered with Empower Simcoe in Barrie Ontario. I created and edited these TikTok videos to support the campaign #thisability.

Brand Story Video

This 3 part video series was produced for a local outdoor adventure and travel retail store as a project for the Introduction to Video DGCC course. The series of 3 videos tells the story of a local outdoor store through 3 different narratives; their origin story, their community, and their ambition to get people outside.

Product Story Video

This product video was produced for a local wood protection product business as a project for the Advanced Video DGCC Course. It combines a narrative achieved through interviews, production video, architectural photos and product hero images bookending the story. Mixing photography and video with interviews keeps viewers engaged and allows for more creative storytelling.

Product Hero Video

This product short form video was produced for an assignment for the Advanced Video DGCC course. It was an exploration of using movement to enhance the static nature of a product with the goal of showcasing a series of what are called product hero shots. These are product showcase shots designed to grab attention. Some of the shots in this video were used at the beginning and end of the Product Story Video displayed on this page. Hero shots are great for opening and closing product videos.

Green Screen Video

This video was produced in the Advanced Video DGCC course. It demonstrates the dramatic effects of green screen used with moving backgrounds. This type of video can transport you to different times and places without ever leaving a studio.

Concept Video

This video was created for the Content Creation Strategies DGCC course. It was developed based on the theme of transformation. It shows how video, photography, and narration not only tells a story but creates a mood with pacing, music and colour selection.
